Camp Fannin

Dear Folks

How are you all? I am pretty good. It is raining here again. Started about an hour ago, it is about 7 now. Has been cloudy and pretty cool all day.

This is really an easy life in here. I have already been here long enough that I can't go back to my old co. So now I don't care how long I have to stay. In fact this would be a good place to stay until the war is over.

Daddy is the wheat ready to cut? I hope it stops raining so you can get it cut. And how does the Timothy & Red Top look.

There is a fellow that came in day before yesterday. He took a bed next to mine. He is full blooded Mexican. He don;t talk English any too plain. He said he just learned English about 4 years ago after he got married. Said his wife learned him English. He's from Arizona. Said he had never been out of Ariz. He said his dad used to be a general in the Mexican Army and was killed. he said he just went to the 3rd grade in school.

Well as I can't think of anything more to say guess i will close.

As Ever

JR
